Manager of Communications Job Description

Child Evangelism Fellowship’s mission is to reach every child in the world. As the manager of communications, you will be managing all the communications for the King County chapter of Child Evangelism Fellowship. To work with us, you will need to affirm our statement of faith

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Draft and/or edit all written communication disseminated by CEF of King County
  • Monitor and manage the official CEF King County email account and phone
  • Manage and send CEF’s monthly emails to donors and supporters
  • Oversee graphic designer

Job Description:

As Manager of Communications, the employee would oversee the graphic designer and create the written communication for the county, for instance: the content of the newsletters and emails, the written content to updates to the website (including class/training descriptions), maintain CEF email account and official phone line, etc. Please note that the manager of communications would not need to design the look of any of these items, only the written content. The graphic designer would be responsible to make a template able to be used by the manager of communications or correspondence would occur between the manager and designer to produce the finished content.

As the manager, the employee would also be expected to organize the behind the scenes work of CEF of King County, which include communication between staff members, committee, volunteers, and the public, management of databases (if required, currently managed on a volunteer basis), keep records of written material that has been used, help draft and produce new material and projects for CEF of King County. CEF of King County regularly sends out 4 email campaigns per month: a monthly newsletter that is also posted to the website, monthly notification of events and trainings happening, monthly prayer requests for the county, and monthly blog posts.  The content of these items would be the responsibility of the manager of communications while the design of said items would be the graphic designer. There is also a physical monthly newsletter sent out to a select donors which would also be part of the manager of communications responsibilities.

This is a part time position; hours are variable depending on current events, projects, and so forth.

 

Job Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Management experience preferred
  • Experience in writing
  • Experience in nonprofit work
  • Highschool, GED, or equivalent required; some college preferred
  • Experience with Office 365, specifically Microsoft Word and Excel

 

Compensation:

  • $20 per hour
